Summary: The Principal Salesforce Architect role involves leading the transformation of the Salesforce environment, focusing on comprehensive architectural redesign rather than incremental changes. The position requires collaboration with a consultancy firm to assess and implement recommendations for the Salesforce instance. The architect will define the enterprise Salesforce architectural roadmap and oversee the delivery of complex multi-cloud solutions. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, along with extensive experience in Salesforce architecture, are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and own the enterprise Salesforce architectural roadmap, ensuring alignment with business strategy, AI initiatives, and cloud modernization efforts.
- Architect and oversee delivery of complex, multi-cloud Salesforce solutions, including integrations with AWS, Microsoft Copilot, and enterprise middleware.
- Provide technical leadership across programs, mentoring senior engineers and guiding offshore development teams with architectural best practices.
- Lead and govern solution design reviews, ensuring scalability, performance, maintainability, and data/security compliance.
- Serve as the final authority for Salesforce integration patterns, API strategy, and enterprise data flow design.
- Drive standardization and adoption of CI/CD, DevOps, test automation, and release governance across all Salesforce teams.
- Conduct deep architectural assessments, identify system-wide risks, and establish mitigation frameworks.
- Establish reference architectures, coding standards, and reusable components to accelerate delivery.
- Partner with executive stakeholders, product leaders, and engineering teams to translate business strategy into actionable architectural blueprints.
- Influence platform decisions across business groups, ensuring Salesforce capabilities are leveraged optimally and cohesively.
Key Skills:
- 10+ years architecting and delivering large-scale end-to-end Salesforce implementations (Sales Cloud required; multi-cloud preferred).
- Demonstrated mastery of Salesforce architecture, including Apex, Visualforce, LWC, Aura, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (React/Angular).
- Deep expertise in API design (SOAP/REST), enterprise integration patterns, and tools such as Kafka, AWS, Informatica, Tibco, Snowflake, etc.
- Strong capability to integrate Microsoft Copilot and AI technologies with Salesforce; ability to bridge AI + CRM architecture at scale.
- Proven experience driving technical design sessions, influencing stakeholders, and communicating architecture to Cyber, exec, business, and engineering audiences.
- Strong background in TDD, SOQL, performance troubleshooting, and front-end debugging (Chrome DevTools).
- Advanced knowledge of release management, Git-based development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and Metadata API deployment strategies.
- Experience leading globally distributed engineering teams and establishing technical governance structures.

NOTE - The biggest difference is that we need someone who can help completely reimagine the Salesforce environment and help take it to the next level. Instead of focusing on incremental architecture (based on submitted tickets and sprints), we re looking for someone who can lead the charge on overall environment transformation/refactoring.
We do have a special consultancy firm (Qvest) coming in to assess our Salesforce instance, and they re going to provide a complete readout with recommendations for our environment. This Principal Architect role will partner with Qvest in the assessment, listen and refine the recommendations, and lead the subsequent effort to implement the recommendations (which could include a full burndown/rebuild).
