Principal Architect/Data Warehouse Architect SAP

Summary: We are looking for a Principal Architect to spearhead the data strategy and extraction framework for a significant enterprise transformation, specifically migrating from SAP ECC to S/4 HANA. The role involves managing data extraction from SAP and ensuring that the Data Warehouse adapts effectively to this major ERP upgrade. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data warehousing and SAP data structures, along with a proven track record in ERP transformations. This position is remote and requires strong technical leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• SAP Data Extraction: Design and optimize scalable frameworks for extracting data out of SAP ECC and S/4 HANA into the enterprise Data Warehouse.
• Impact Analysis: Assess and mitigate the impact of the S/4 HANA data migration (structural table changes) on downstream DW models and reporting.
• DW Evolution: Architect the Data Warehouse to adapt gracefully to major source-application upgrades without disrupting business intelligence.
• Technical Leadership: Define integration best practices and bridge the gap between the SAP migration team and the data engineering team.

Key Skills:

• SAP & Extraction Expertise: Deep understanding of SAP data structures (ECC & S/4 HANA) and proven experience extracting SAP data (via SLT, OData, SAP BW, or third-party CDC tools).
• Data Warehousing: 10+ years of enterprise DW experience (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure) with strong data modeling skills.
• ERP Transformation: Direct, hands-on experience navigating a major ERP transformation or SAP ECC to S/4 HANA migration.
• Change Management: Proven ability to manage DW architecture adaptations during massive source-system overhauls.
