Power System Applications (PSA) Engineer -Transmission

Summary: The Power System Applications (PSA) Engineer - Transmission role is focused on customizing and delivering Energy Management Systems, particularly e-terra AEMS - Reliance. The position requires extensive experience in programming languages, electric utility industry practices, and system administration. The engineer will also be responsible for troubleshooting, debugging, and maintaining live customer systems. This is a long-term remote contract position outside of IR35 regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customize and deliver Energy Management Systems, preferably e-terra AEMS - Reliance.
• Develop and maintain applications using C++, Java, and other related languages.
• Work with GE's AEMS Reliance source design and development.
• Implement industry practices within the electric utility sector.
• Manage LINUX and Windows Operating Systems.
• Handle SQL, shell scripting, and debug files.
• Install operating system patches and third-party software.
• Configure systems and utilize GitHub and ClearCase.
• Support real-time or mission-critical systems.
• Analyze and resolve problems effectively.
• Communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
• Utilize MS Office applications and MS Outlook.
• Leverage experience with Reliance (formerly XA/21) and object-oriented programming techniques.

Key Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in Energy Management Systems, specifically e-terra AEMS - Reliance.
• Proficiency in C++, Java, and related programming languages.
• Experience with GE's AEMS Reliance source design and development.
• Knowledge of electric utility industry practices.
• Experience with LINUX and Windows Operating Systems.
• Proficient in SQL, shell scripting, and debugging.
• Experience with system configuration and third-party software installation.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub and ClearCase.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Competency in MS Office applications and MS Outlook.
• Experience with Reliance (formerly XA/21) is a plus.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming techniques and system administration.
