Summary: The Power BI Solution Architect / Technical Lead will spearhead a significant migration and transformation project, focusing on transitioning thousands of dashboards from Tableau to Power BI. This role involves defining the technical architecture and developing strategies for onboarding and report distribution for a large user base. The position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure a seamless integration and deployment of Power BI solutions across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in BI and analytics, particularly with Power BI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a modern Power BI architecture with a focus on enterprise data gateways and governance frameworks.
- Define and lead the enterprise-wide strategy for Microsoft Fabric.
- Establish best practices for Fabric capacity planning and data governance.
- Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams for seamless integration of Fabric components.
- Ensure secure and high-performance deployment of Power BI across the organization.
- Help lead the strategic planning of the migration from Tableau to Power BI.
- Ensure data fidelity and performance optimization during the migration lifecycle.
- Design and implement Power BI deployment pipelines for version control and automated validation.
- Integrate CI/CD practices for Power BI and Fabric assets.
- Architect a report bursting strategy for personalized report delivery.
- Leverage Power BI capabilities to automate report distribution.
- Develop and execute a robust onboarding strategy for users across business units.
- Create training materials and establish role-based access controls.
- Define and enforce governance policies for data refresh schedules and sharing permissions.
- Serve as a technical advisor for Power BI best practices.
Key Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in BI and analytics, with at least 3+ years in Power BI architecture and development.
- Proven experience in large-scale dashboard migration projects from Tableau to Power BI.
- Strong expertise in Power BI service, DAX, Power Query, and workspace management.
- Experience with report bursting using Power BI paginated reports and Power Automate.
- Familiarity with Azure services (e.g., Synapse, Data Factory, ADLS) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Architecture & Infrastructure (must have)
Design and implement a modern Power BI architecture with key focus on enterprise data gateways, workspace domain structures, streamlining workspaces organization and governance frameworks.
Define and lead the enterprise-wide strategy for Microsoft Fabric.
Establish best practices for Fabric capacity planning, workspace configuration, and data governance.
Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure seamless integration of Fabric components into existing data ecosystems.
Ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance deployment of Power BI across the organization.
Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to align gateway configurations and data access protocols.
Migration Strategy (must have)
Help the team lead the strategic planning of the migration from Tableau to Power BI.
Ensure data fidelity, performance optimization, and stakeholder alignment throughout the migration lifecycle.
Deployment Pipelines & CI/CD (must have)
Design and implement Power BI deployment pipelines to support version control, environment promotion (dev/test/prod), and automated validation.
Integrate CI/CD practices for Power BI and Fabric assets to ensure consistent and reliable delivery of updates.
Report Bursting & Distribution (nice to have)
Architect a report bursting strategy to deliver personalized reports based on user roles, regions, or business units.
Leverage Power BI capabilities (e.g., paginated reports, subscriptions, Power Automate) to automate report distribution.
Ensure compliance with data security and privacy policies during report delivery.
Monitor and optimize report delivery performance and user experience.
User Onboarding & Enablement (nice to have)

10+ years of experience in BI and analytics, with at least 3+ years in Power BI architecture and development.
Proven experience in large-scale dashboard migration projects, especially from Tableau to Power BI.
Strong expertise in Power BI service, DAX, Power Query, data gateways, and workspace management.
Experience with report bursting using Power BI paginated reports, Power Automate, or third-party tools.
Familiarity with Azure services (e.g., Synapse, Data Factory, ADLS) is a plus.
