Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Power BI dashboards and semantic models using SAP data that is available in Microsoft Fabric.
- Leverage deep understanding of SAP Finance and Plant Maintenance data structures to build accurate and meaningful analytics solutions.
- Create robust SAP data models in fabric Lakehouse / warehouse for PBI reporting.
- Create and maintain star schema models (fact and dimension tables) within Fabric for reporting purposes.
- Create Data models & Views based on the business requirements.
- Create calculated tables, measures, KPIs, and hierarchies using advanced DAX for analytical and financial reporting needs on SAP Data.
- Optimize report load time and model size using techniques such as summarization, query folding, and selective column loading.
- Monitor and tune dataset refresh schedules, query performance, and usage analytics through the Power BI Service and Microsoft Fabric monitoring tools.
- Document data models, data lineage, and logic behind DAX measures for business transparency and audit purposes.
- Perform unit testing and validation to ensure alignment of Power BI outputs with SAP source data as reflected in Fabric.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data integrity, schema consistency, and governance standards in the Fabric environment.
- Develop DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and define row-level security as needed.
- Power BI administrator activities.
- Engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure data quality, performance optimization, and usability in all reports and datasets.
- Independently manage end-to-end BI project lifecycle from design to deployment.
Key Skills:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI development.
- Experience working with Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse or Warehouse as a data source.
- Strong domain knowledge in SAP Financial and Plant Maintenance data models.
- Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI semantic modeling.
- Ability to work independently and deliver solutions with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
