Power BI Developer

Summary: The Power BI Developer role is a fully remote, 6-month contract focused on delivering a significant project for a major client. The position requires an experienced specialist to lead the development of BI solutions using Power BI, transforming complex data into actionable insights. Key responsibilities include end-to-end requirements capture, data modeling, and ensuring data governance and security. The role emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders and continuous improvement in data visualization practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• End to end requirements capture, design and implementation of BI solutions using Power BI
• Connect PBI to and join diverse data sources to establish optimised data models
• Develop user-tailored data visualisations to facilitate insight
• Interact with business stakeholders to determine requirements
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical team members, clients, business analysts, and data engineers
• Troubleshoot data and PBI related issues and maintain PBI infrastructure
• Ensure data governance and security, utilizing security features within PBI such as row level security
• Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in Power BI and data visualisation

Key Skills:

• Proficient with PBI desktop and PBI service
• Data modelling
• Advanced DAX and Power Query M Code
• MSSQL
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Proactive, motivated, and curious with a focus on continuous improvement
• Degree in Computer Science or related and/or experience in a similar role (preferred)
• Knowledge of Power BI admin portal (preferred)
• Knowledge of Power BI capacity management (preferred)
