Summary: The Power BI Developer role is a 3-month contract position focused on creating actionable dashboards from finance and sales data for a leading technology consultancy. The successful candidate will work within the Reporting & Analytics Team, utilizing Power BI, SQL, and Power Query to develop reports and maintain documentation. This position is primarily remote with some travel required to London. The role demands strong technical skills in data modeling and visualization to support the business's evolving needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Power BI reports from end-to-end, integrating multiple data sources using Power Query.
- Build and maintain performant data models, ensuring simplicity and efficiency in DAX calculations.
- Design visuals and layouts following company templates and standards.
- Write SQL queries against the Enterprise Data Warehouse to extract and transform data.
- Conduct unit testing, spot anomalies, and support business testing.
- Produce in-line and external documentation to maintain high-quality deliverables.
Key Skills:
- Strong SQL skills (joins, CTEs, sub-queries, window functions).
- Power Query for data extraction and transformation in Power BI and Excel.
- Power BI Data Modelling for large and complex datasets.
- DAX for measures and calculations within Power BI.
- Experience creating clear, visually effective reports using standard Power BI visualisations.
- Good documentation practices, both in-line and external.
- Understanding of finance and sales data is essential.

We are looking to recruit a Power BI Developer for a leading technology consultancy on an initial 3 month contract. Working in my client's Reporting & Analytics Team the successful candidate will be responsible for processing and translating finance and sales data into actionable dashboards, supporting the business as it evolves through its Target Operating Models. This is a remote role with some travel into London.
About the Role
You will work on end-to-end production of Power BI reports, combining multiple data sources using SQL and Power Query, developing robust data models, creating DAX measures, and delivering visually clear dashboards using standard templates. You will also conduct unit testing, support business testing, and maintain in-line and external documentation to required standards.
