Platform Operations & Automation Engineer

Summary: Seeking an engineer with experience in supporting platform operations, writing SQL queries, automating tasks using Python/Shell/PowerShell, and working with AWS infrastructure and monitoring tools like CloudWatch and Splunk.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and support platform operation using custom built applications
• Write and execute SQL queries on Oracle and SQL Server databases
• Identify opportunities to automate routine operational tasks
• Test and validate automation developed to ensure accuracy of the automation developed
• Maintain automation developed and document operation procedures using tools such as confluence
• Understand business workflows and functions and support day-to-day business operations
• Query logs using CloudWatch and Splunk and identify errors and root.
• Support validation of platform environments and identify any configuration changes.

Key Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in technical fields such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field preferred
• 5+ years experience required
• Broad knowledge of IT Systems and Operations
• Coding skills using these languages/tools (Python, shell scripting, Windows PowerShell)
• Knowledge of AWS Cloud Infrastructure services
• Understanding of APIs and Command line interface
• Experience utilizing cloud services (AWS) and ability to quickly learn new cloud services
• Implement automation to manage and maintain routine operational tasks
• Understanding of relational databases and ability to write queries using SQL-Plus and integrating queries into python programs to automate routine queries to support operations
