Detailed Description From Employer:

Platform Engineer - Outside IR35 - Remote - 6 months

  • You will be an integral member of Squad A, working alongside the Senior Platform Engineer to deliver and maintain the integration layer that connects BSS/OSS systems. Mid-transformation - moving from vendor-managed, outsourced integration to a fully in-house engineering capability - and your contributions will matter from day one.
  • The integrations you build and maintain are what connect Salesforce Communications Cloud to billing systems, provisioning pipelines, the NetAdmin network configuration platform, and ultimately to the customers getting connected across the UK.

Must Have Skills

Experience

  • Minimum 18 months of hands-on integration or API development experience in a professional delivery environment - working on real platform implementations with production consequence, not solely academic or training exercises
  • Solid REST API fundamentals - HTTP methods, status codes, JSON/XML payload structures - with practical experience consuming or publishing APIs in a professional context
  • Exposure to integration concepts in practice - connecting disparate systems, handling data transformation between formats, managing errors and retries in integration flows
  • Working experience with at least one Scripting or development language (Python, JavaScript, Java, C#, or equivalent) used to build or support integration or automation work
  • Source control experience - Git, branching, pull requests, and working within a team development workflow
  • Awareness of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices - sufficient to operate within a structured DevOps delivery model

Desirable Skills

  • Demonstrable exposure to MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Anypoint Studio, and the standard connector catalogue (HTTP, SFTP, Database, Salesforce) - with the ability to configure and troubleshoot integration flows from a specification
  • DataWeave 2.0 awareness and growing proficiency - able to write and interpret basic-to-intermediate transformation logic for JSON and XML payloads
  • Salesforce connector experience or familiarity with Salesforce APIs
  • Exposure to RAML or OpenAPI Specification for API contract documentation
  • Telecoms, ISP, or BSS/OSS platform awareness
  • MuleSoft Certified Developer (Associate or Professional level)
  • Exposure to event-driven patterns - Webhooks, message queuing, async integration
  • Contract Length: 6 months
  • Day Rate: £500/day (Outside IR35)
  • Mode: Fully Remote
  • Start: ASAP
