Summary: The Platform DevOps Engineer role is a 6-month remote position focused on building and managing infrastructure using AWS, Terraform, and other technologies. The ideal candidate should possess a passion for technology, initiative, and teamwork, along with experience in agile environments. Key responsibilities include working with CI tools and ensuring infrastructure meets non-functional requirements. Candidates should also be SC clearable and have experience with Kubernetes and Docker as desirable skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage infrastructure using AWS Cloud Formation or Terraform.
- Administer Linux systems and utilize Nginx.
- Collaborate using tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence.
- Work within an agile context and utilize CI practices.
- Articulate logical designs and translate them to physical infrastructure.
- Define and work with constraints of non-functional requirements (NFRs) like cost, scalability, and availability.
Key Skills:
- Experience with AWS Cloud Formation or Terraform.
- Linux administration skills.
- Knowledge of Nginx.
- Familiarity with collaboration tools (Git, Jira, Confluence).
- SC clearable status.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker (for more senior candidates).
- Knowledge of Hashicorp tools (Packer, Consul, Vault, etc.).

Skills
Working within an agile context with the use of CI
Articulate a logical design, and understand how this translates to physical infrastructure
Experience with defining and working with the constraint of NFRs such as cost, scalability, availability
The must have skills will determine how well they will be able to integrate into our way of working and the principals we use when making strategic and long-term decisions.
