Summary: The role of a Planning Lawyer involves managing a full caseload in Planning and Highways Law for a local authority in Berkshire. The position requires drafting and negotiating complex S106 agreements and providing legal advice to ensure compliance with statutory duties. This is a fully remote, 6-month rolling contract offering competitive pay. The ideal candidate will have over three years of PQE in relevant law and experience in a public sector legal team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling a full caseload on Planning and Highways Law from start to completion
- Draft and negotiate complex S106 agreements
- Provide legal advice on corporate, constitution and administrative matters to ensure compliance with statutory duties and obligations and to protect the best interests of the Council
Key Skills:
- A qualified solicitor, legal executive or barrister with 3+ years of PQE in Planning and Highways law
- Ability to draft and complete Section 106 Agreements
- Experience working for a public sector legal team as a planning and highways lawyer
