PHP Software Engineer
Rate: £400 - £425 a day (Inside IR35)
Duration: 3 months initially
Location: Remote (UK Based)
You will join a global IT Consultancy who are delivering digital transformation to a public sector agency.
Project Overview:
The client needs to upgrade their existing solution to the latest version of PHP, in order to support a subsequent cloud migration and modernisation effort.
The current application is a PHP Web Client monolith with all features built into the web client. Due to this the scalability, resilience and security of the application has become difficult to maintain as the popularity of the product has grown.
Your focus will be to upgrade the existing PHP monolith to the latest version of PHP. We are looking for engineers with strong familiarity with modern PHP tooling like PHPStan, PHPUnit, PHP_CodeSniffer, PHP Mess Detector, or Rector. AWS experience will be beneficial.
Your skills and experience:
- Strong PHP experience and knowledge is needed - the client will want to see evidence of experience with modern PHP tooling including PHPStan, PHPUnit, PHP_CodeSniffer, PHP Mess Detector
- AWS experience is highly desirable
