Summary: Seeking an experienced software developer with strong PHP skills to lead enhancements and support for large-scale public sector platforms. The role involves building secure applications, developing APIs, and maintaining deployment workflows while collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead enhancements and support for system upgrades within large-scale public sector platforms
  • Build secure, high-performing applications that comply with GDS and accessibility standards
  • Develop and maintain APIs to enable integration with internal services & third-party providers
  • Write and maintain automated tests, ensuring reliability through integration with CI pipelines
  • Maintain deployment workflows using containerisation tools and continuous delivery practices
  • Use Git-based workflows to manage source code and collaborate effectively within teams
  • Participate in agile delivery: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Conduct code reviews and promote clean coding practices to support knowledge sharing and team improvement

Key Skills:

  • Eligible for SC clearance
  • Strong in PHP development (especially Drupal 10 & WordPress)
  • Experienced use of JavaScript/TypeScript & Node.js
  • Testing experience with Cypress & ability to build and maintain automated test suites
  • Working knowledge of DevOps practices: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Comfortable working across both Front End (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and Back End systems
  • Experience with version control systems - Git
  • Strong understanding of GDS principles

Seeking an experienced software developer with strong PHP skills, a solid background in JavaScript, DevOps practices and modern testing frameworks. You will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of robust, user-centric digital services that meet the needs of users.

You will work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams & multiple projects.

This is an opportunity to be put through SC clearance and will be required as part of onboarding.
