Summary: The Performance Test Engineer - II role involves assisting in project planning and execution, developing automated test scenarios for performance testing, and analyzing test results to ensure system reliability and scalability. The position requires collaboration with development teams to address performance issues and improve testing efficiency. The engineer will manage multiple performance testing projects and be responsible for performance modeling and capacity planning. This is a home-based position located in the USA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, budgeting and tracking activities.
- Provide support in project design, development and deployment activities.
- Develop automated test scenarios and environments for performance testing.
- Review and recommend improvements to existing test procedures.
- Design and develop test strategies and plans to verify that applications and systems under test meet expected SLAs.
- Design, implement, execute, and analyze performance and load tests for services and applications.
- Conduct system performance testing to ensure system reliability, capacity and scalability.
- Work with testing team to develop performance test plans and cases.
- Analyze test results and coordinate with development teams for bug fixes.
- Generate test summary reports for management review.
- Analyze root causes of performance issues and provide corrective actions.
- Suggest new tools and techniques to improve testing efficiency.
- Understanding of software development and QA processes.
- Performance analysis of production data for ongoing assessment and tuning of performance test approach.
- Manage multiple performance testing projects.
- Responsible for performance modelling, benchmarking, capacity planning and infrastructure optimization.
Key Skills:
- Three years of experience with performance modelling, benchmarking, capacity planning and infrastructure optimization.
- Two years of experience with stakeholder management and ability to communicate technical results to leadership.
- Experience with Broadband Internet Industry Testing Standards, Okla Speed Test and general Speed Test Architecture.
- Familiarity with Peak Trimmed Mean (PTM) Methodology.
- Develop performance test plans and cases.
- Understanding of APIs and using Postman or similar application.
