Summary: We are seeking a skilled Performance Test Engineer with expertise in testing IBM Sterling Order Management Systems. The role involves designing and executing performance tests to ensure the system's stability and responsiveness under various load conditions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with teams to optimize performance and generate detailed reports on system metrics. This position is contract-based and offers remote working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop performance test plans, scripts, and scenarios for Sterling OMS workflows.
  • Simulate high-load environments to assess system performance during peak traffic (e.g., sales events).
  • Execute load, stress, soak, and spike tests on Sterling OMS and integrated systems.
  • Analyse performance test results, identify bottlenecks (DB, JMS, APIs, etc.), and recommend optimizations.
  • Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure, and DevOps to tune system performance.
  • Monitor application health using tools like AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
  • Generate performance test reports and provide clear performance KPIs and SLA compliance data.

Key Skills:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling).
  • Strong knowledge of IBM Sterling OMS architecture and API workflows.
  • Experience in monitoring and profiling tools: JVM, Garbage Collection (GC), DB metrics, thread analysis.
  • Good knowledge of SOAP/REST APIs, JSON, XML formats.
  • Familiarity with JMS queues, Kafka, IBM MQ, and async processing performance testing.
  • Understanding of OMS business processes like order creation, fulfilment, inventory, returns.
  • Proficiency with SQL for DB performance analysis.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration (Jenkins, Git, etc.) is a plus.
