Summary: The PeopleSoft HCM Functional Consultant will lead functional activities for the Time and Labor, Commitment Accounting, and Absence Management modules within PeopleSoft HCM. This role involves gathering business requirements, configuring applications, and participating in implementations and upgrades. The consultant will also analyze functionality, prepare documentation, and support testing and troubleshooting efforts. Strong expertise in PeopleSoft HCM and experience in higher education institutions are preferred qualifications for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead functional activities for PeopleSoft HCM Time and Labor, Commitment Accounting, and Absence Management modules.
- Gather and analyze business requirements from HR, Payroll, Finance, and departmental stakeholders.
- Configure and maintain PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 applications according to organizational requirements.
- Participate in PeopleSoft HCM implementations, upgrades, PUM image adoption, or system consolidation initiatives.
- Analyze delivered functionality and recommend best-practice solutions.
- Configure Time Reporting Codes (TRCs), workgroups, schedules, payable time rules, and time administration processes.
- Configure and support Absence Management including leave plans, accruals, entitlement rules, eligibility, and absence processing.
- Configure Commitment Accounting including funding distributions, labor distribution, and integration with Payroll and Finance.
- Collaborate with technical teams on customizations, interfaces, reports, and data conversion activities.
- Prepare Functional Design Documents (FDDs), business process documentation, configuration workbooks, and training materials.
- Develop and execute unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and regression testing.
- Support issue analysis, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and production support.
- Work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of PeopleSoft HCM Functional consulting experience.
- Strong expertise in PeopleSoft Time and Labor.
- Strong expertise in PeopleSoft Commitment Accounting.
- Strong expertise in PeopleSoft Absence Management.
- Recent experience with at least one of the following: PeopleSoft HCM Implementation, PeopleSoft HCM Upgrade, PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM), HCM Consolidation Project.
- Experience with PeopleSoft HCM 9.2.
- Strong knowledge of HR, Payroll, and Benefits business processes.
- Experience conducting business requirements workshops.
- Experience creating functional specifications and supporting technical development.
- Experience with testing methodologies including SIT, UAT, and regression testing.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
