Our client seeks an Application System Administrator to install, configure, and support third-party software and application environments across the delivery lifecycle.
The role will administer environments, promote changes through DEV, QAT, and PROD, and partner with development, infrastructure, and vendors to ensure availability, performance, and compliance.
The position includes monitoring, troubleshooting, automation, and on-call support.
Video participation requirements stated by the client apply to this role.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration.

Responsibilities
- Test operational readiness of third-party application software, upgrades, and patches on servers.
- Configure, install, maintain, and optimize third-party software on servers across service areas.
- Create and deploy DEV, QAT, and PROD build packages where applicable.
- Manage and optimize generic and service accounts, including password changes and decommissioning.
- Validate and monitor software and server access and set up application user permissions.
- Evaluate and recommend third-party software upgrades and review documentation for pertinent enhancements.
- Provide debugging assistance to developers and analyze effects of software and configuration changes on other systems.
- Coordinate software and hardware installs and upgrades with infrastructure resources.
- Configure and modify scheduling tools for jobs and processes.
- Monitor performance of third-party jobs and cycles, request capacity and storage changes, and manage log retention automation.
- Generate, maintain, and analyze system performance metrics and recommend improvements.
- Provide on-call support for incidents and outages and handle application service start and completion.
- Validate firewall, load balancer, and server configuration changes and develop or submit firewall requests.
- Create and execute database scripts and queries, maintain and support databases, and validate backups.
- Plan and coordinate backup strategies and disaster recovery activities.
- Implement and maintain interfaces and identify integration points and reusable components.
- Develop and update scripts to automate administration tasks and review architecture for limitations and standards compliance.
- Use diagnostic tools and work with vendors to troubleshoot application issues.
- Train and mentor associates and recommend process improvements.
- Apply change, incident, release, and problem management processes and comply with audit requirements.
- Serve as technical lead for third-party application upgrades and manage service requests and support rotations.
- Create team communication plans and perform change manager responsibilities.
Experience Requirements
- PeopleSoft and PeopleTools installations, upgrades, and patching using Change Assistant.
- Knowledge or experience with Phire.
- Strong knowledge of server virtualization, PeopleSoft debugging, and tuning.
- Experience with PeopleSoft 9.2 applications and patching methods including PUM and DPK.
- PeopleSoft security including User Administration, Development Tools, and Integration Tools.
- Experience performing restores, refresh, and cloning.
- Understanding of application architecture, database schemas, and development tools.
- Production support, troubleshooting, and problem solving.
- Moderate understanding of web service technologies.
- Experience with MIM and familiarity with XML technologies.
- Experience with SQL Server and proficiency in SQL.
- Effective verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow through.
