Summary: The Payroll Manager role is a 12-month fixed-term contract focused on leading and managing the payroll team within a business consultancy firm. The position requires ensuring accurate and timely delivery of payroll services for both UK and international employees, alongside financial reporting and compliance. This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to the Manchester office. The ideal candidate will have extensive payroll management experience and strong stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end to end payroll process for approximately 500 employees, across UK and international locations, ensuring all payments are accurate and processed on time.
  • Oversee and manage stakeholder management.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory changes, and compliance requirements in the UK and applicable international jurisdictions.
  • Ensure correct tax and NI calculations, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP), pension contributions, and other deductions.
  • Prepare and deliver payroll related financial reporting in alignment with monthly and year end finance cycles. Complete payroll reconciliations including balance sheet accounts, payroll journals, and variance analysis.
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure accurate posting of payroll data and provide insights into cost trends and anomalies.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum of 4+ years hands on experience, of UK & EMEA payroll management
  • Analytically driven and responsible for creating innovative solutions to support the business
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised, able to work to tight deadlines, and comfortable in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills

Payroll Manager – 12 month FTC – Remote – up to £45,000 per annum

Oakleaf Partnership is delighted to be partnered with a business consultancy firm, looking for an experienced Payroll individual, on a 12 month FTC basis. The Payroll Manager will lead and manage the payroll team, whilst responsible for the accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of end to end payroll services, including finance reporting, reconciliations, and continuous process improvement, for UK & International entities.This role is on a remote basis, with the occasional travel to their Manchester office.
