Summary: The Payments Product Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Ford Bill / Unified Billing initiative at Ford Credit, focusing on enhancing payment capabilities for a seamless customer experience. This position requires collaboration with various teams to translate business needs into actionable product requirements and ensure successful delivery. The role demands a strong background in payments and billing, along with effective stakeholder management skills. The position is fully remote and expected to last between 6 to 8 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define Payments requirements for Ford Bill / Unified Billing.
  • Document current-state and future-state payment flows, including customer experience, servicing, operations, and downstream impacts.
  • Create and maintain product artifacts such as business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, feature briefs, and decision logs.
  • Support backlog management, prioritization, sprint planning, and delivery tracking.
  • Identify dependencies across Payments, Billing, Customer, Servicing, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering teams.
  • Facilitate working sessions to clarify scope, resolve open questions, and drive alignment.
  • Support risk, issue, and decision management for payment-related workstreams.
  • Coordinate testing readiness, including test scenarios, UAT support, defect triage, and production validation.
  • Help define success metrics, reporting needs, and operational controls for the payment experience.
  • Prepare concise status updates, executive summaries, and readouts for leadership.

Key Skills:

  • Product management or business analyst experience in payments, billing, financial services, auto finance, banking, or digital commerce.
  • Strong understanding of payment methods such as ACH, debit card, credit card, digital wallets, bill pay, recurring payments, scheduled payments, and refunds.
  • Experience working with Agile delivery teams and writing user stories / acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to simplify complex business, technical, and operational topics for cross-functional audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and follow-through.
  • Experience with regulated financial services environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with customer billing, account servicing, payment posting, reconciliation, or general ledger impacts is a plus.
