Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and oversee financial records for Aeon Energy UK and Aeon Energy Maldives
  • Prepare and maintain operational budgets for both entities
  • Monitor budget performance and track deviations from planned expenditure
  • Support the preparation of financial forecasts and planning models
  • Assist management in maintaining clear financial visibility across the business
  • Monitor the company’s treasury structure and internal cash allocation across operational accounts
  • Track cash balances across different internal budget categories
  • Maintain oversight of working capital requirements and upcoming financial obligations
  • Monitor payment schedules including supplier payments, working capital facilities, and tax obligations
  • Support management in maintaining clear financial discipline across the organisation
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure correct entries in the company’s accounting systems
  • Assist with preparation of year-end accounts and coordination with external accountants
  • Support reconciliation of financial transactions across company accounts
  • Track invoices, payments, and receivables across projects and operational activities
  • Ensure financial records remain organised and up to date
  • Support financial tracking of externally funded projects, including Innovate UK programmes
  • Assist with preparing financial information required for grant reporting and claim submissions

Role Overview

We are seeking a Part-Time Financial Controller to support the financial management of the company as it continues to grow. The role will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring cash flow and treasury positions, preparing internal budgets, and ensuring that financial operations remain well organised as the business expands. The position will involve overseeing financial tracking across both Aeon Energy UK (AEUK) and Aeon Energy Maldives (AEML), including monitoring project budgets, operational spending, and cash allocation across different areas of the business. The successful candidate will work closely with management to maintain clear financial visibility across the company and ensure financial systems remain simple, structured, and scalable as the organisation grows. The role is primarily remote but may require occasional attendance at the office approximately once per month. As the company grows, there is potential for this role to expand into a full-time financial management position.
