Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain Oracle production databases (versions 12c/19c/21c) to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, outages, and errors.
  • Perform routine health checks, maintenance, patching, and upgrades in production environments.
  • Handle backup and recovery using RMAN and other tools; ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.
  • Support high-availability solutions including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
  • Manage incident and problem tickets; provide root cause analysis and resolution in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business users to ensure efficient database operations.
  • Automate routine DBA tasks using PL/SQL, Shell scripts, or Python.
  • Perform capacity planning and space management.
  • Implement and maintain database security, auditing, and user access controls.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for processes and configurations.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, with at least 3 years in production support.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle RDBMS architecture, performance tuning, and diagnostics.
  • Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
  • Experience with tools like OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager), AWR, ADDM, TKPROF, and Statspack.
