Summary: The Oracle DBA role is focused on supporting and delivering database administration and upgrade activities across various Oracle environments, including Oracle Database, SOA Suite, and E-Business Suite. The position requires hands-on experience with upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting in both production and non-production systems. The role is remote with potential travel to Newcastle and is classified as inside IR35, requiring work through an umbrella company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver end-to-end upgrade activities across Oracle Database, EBS, and SOA environments
  • Perform database upgrades and patching
  • Support and upgrade Oracle E-Business Suite
  • Upgrade and manage Oracle SOA Suite and WebLogic Server (WLS)
  • Upgrade Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management) environments and Oracle IDCS cloud services/EBS Assertor for authentication
  • Execute cloning, migration, and environment refresh activities
  • Raise and manage Oracle Support Service Requests (SRs) and coordinate with Oracle Support for issue resolution
  • Work closely with infrastructure, application, and release teams for deployment and cutover activities
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Ensure adherence to change and release management processes
  • Ensure compliance with security and governance standards

Key Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2.8 (EBS) upgrades/remediation engagements
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database Administration (19c) including patching, upgrades, TDE/Grid infrastructure and data guard
  • Experience with Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management)
  • Hands-on experience in end-to-end upgrade activities across non-production and production environments
  • Strong experience with patching, cloning, and migration strategies
  • Experience in Linux/Unix environments
  • Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting across DB and middleware layers
  • Experience in raising and managing Oracle Support Service Requests (SRs) and coordinating with Oracle Support
  • Ability to work in controlled / secure environments with strict governance
  • Understanding of backup & recovery (RMAN)

We are seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to support and deliver database administration and upgrade activities across Oracle Database, Oracle SOA Suite, and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) 12.2.x environments. The role involves working across both production and non-production systems, to upgrade/remediate, applying patches, etc., ensuring stability, performance, and successful upgrade execution.
