Summary: The Oracle DBA/Exadata Migration Specialist role is a remote position requiring candidates to be residents of Wisconsin or willing to relocate. The specialist will focus on Oracle Database Administration, particularly in migrating databases to Exadata and cloud platforms, while also ensuring performance tuning and troubleshooting. Candidates must have hands-on experience with Oracle releases and various technologies, and be available for alternate shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and configure Oracle databases, focusing on migration to Exadata and cloud platforms.
- Perform database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Create scripts for automation of processes within Oracle database environments.
- Work alternate shifts and weekends as required during the engagement.
- Conduct detailed root cause analysis of Oracle database systems.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of technical and functional knowledge of Oracle database performance tuning.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with RMAN and Data Guard.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in root cause analysis of Oracle database systems.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in scripting for automation in Oracle environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle database troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Experience migrating databases to/from Exadata platform.
- Experience in a Higher Education Environment.

Remote - Candidate must be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense. This role can work 100% remote from within the state of WI.
Candidate must be experienced in Oracle Database Administration, Architecture, and Configuration with hands on experience in migrating databases to Exadata and cloud platforms using multiple methods and technologies. Experience with Oracle releases 19.x and 26.x, RMAN, Data Guard, scripting and automation is required. Familiarity with the full license feature set such as multitenancy, advanced compression, partitioning, cloud management pack is preferred. Hands-on experience with Exadata Critical Patch updates preferred. Must be willing to work alternate shifts (1st2nd, 3rd) and weekends during the engagement as required. The work will be done in the Central Time Zone (CST).
