Summary: The OpenShift Architect role involves leading the architecture and design of a large-scale cloud migration program, specifically migrating microservices-based applications from an on-premises environment to AWS. The position requires collaboration with technical and business stakeholders to define migration strategies and produce necessary documentation. This is a remote contract position with a focus on container platform solutions using EKS, ECS, and OpenShift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture and design of a large-scale application migration to AWS
- Produce high-level and low-level solution design documentation
- Provide technical guidance on migrating microservices-based applications
- Design and support container platform solutions using EKS, ECS and OpenShift
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to define migration strategies
- Contribute to AWS cost modelling and provide commercial considerations for proposed solutions
Key Skills:
- Proven experience delivering large-scale cloud migration programmes
- Experience supporting large-scale application migration programmes from on-premises environments to AWS
- Hands-on experience with EKS, ECS and OpenShift (essential)
- Experience designing and documenting high-level and low-level solution designs
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and application migration strategies
- AWS Kiro is desirable

We're working with a leading Global IT Services Provider who are looking for an OpenShift Architect to support a large-scale cloud migration programme. This role will focus on migrating a portfolio of microservices-based applications from an on-premises cloud environment to AWS.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture and design of a large-scale application migration to AWS
- Produce high-level and low-level solution design documentation
- Provide technical guidance on migrating microservices-based applications
- Design and support container platform solutions using EKS, ECS and OpenShift
