Summary: The Payments Manager will oversee and optimize global payment operations for a leading Online Travel Agency, focusing on customer payments, chargebacks, fraud prevention, and supplier settlements, particularly with airline partners. This role requires strategic leadership in payment processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance. The position is integral to supporting international expansion and improving the overall customer experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payments management, particularly within the travel or e-commerce sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end flow of payments, including client transactions, refunds, chargebacks, and supplier settlements.
  • Handle chargebacks from clients and to airlines, investigating disputes and minimizing financial impact.
  • Build and maintain systems for fraud detection and prevention.
  • Analyze and optimize transaction fees, FX costs, and payment routing.
  • Identify and manage local and international payment methods tailored to customer preferences.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Tech, Legal, and Customer Care teams to ensure compliance and alignment on payment processes.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and KPIs on payment performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure scalable and compliant payment solutions for entry into new markets.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in payments management within online businesses, preferably in travel, e-commerce, or fintech.
  • Strong background in managing client-side payments and supplier-side settlements.
  • Proven experience in handling chargebacks and dispute resolution (B2C and B2B).
  • Expertise in fraud detection and prevention tools.
  • Demonstrated success in reducing payment costs through optimization and negotiation.
  • Strong negotiation skills with international suppliers, especially airlines.
  • Knowledge of global payment ecosystems.
  • Comfortable working with data, reports, and payment reconciliation systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional projects.
  • Fluency in English; experience in the travel industry is a significant advantage.
