Role: Oncology Data Manager

Location: Remote

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Job Summary:

  • The Contractor shall provide an Oncology Data Specialist-Credentialed (ODS-C) credentialed subject matter expert experienced in reporting hospital cancer registry data to national standards.
  • The individual shall have the educational requirements to become and maintain the Oncology Data Specialist credential through the National Cancer Registry Association.
  • The POC shall be knowledgeable about CoC data standards for accredited cancer programs and processes for applying national standard setter guidelines for cancer registries.
  • This includes the CDC, NAACCR, American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) staging protocol, and the NCI - SEER standards.
  • The POC shall be experienced in conducting audits to assess the quality, completeness, and timeliness of cancer registry data submissions.
  • The individual shall be experienced in managing large teams of cancer registry hospital staff.
  • This POC will be responsible for training Contractor staff on VA systems, Directives and policies
