Summary: The Oncology Data Manager role involves providing expertise in hospital cancer registry data reporting to national standards. Job Summary:
- The Contractor shall provide an Oncology Data Specialist-Credentialed (ODS-C) credentialed subject matter expert experienced in reporting hospital cancer registry data to national standards.
- The individual shall have the educational requirements to become and maintain the Oncology Data Specialist credential through the National Cancer Registry Association.
- The POC shall be knowledgeable about CoC data standards for accredited cancer programs and processes for applying national standard setter guidelines for cancer registries.
- This includes the CDC, NAACCR, American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) staging protocol, and the NCI - SEER standards.
- The POC shall be experienced in conducting audits to assess the quality, completeness, and timeliness of cancer registry data submissions.
- The individual shall be experienced in managing large teams of cancer registry hospital staff.
- This POC will be responsible for training Contractor staff on VA systems, Directives and policies
