Summary: The role of Obesity Nurse Specialist (Bank) involves providing remote weight management care as part of a digital-first Tier 3 service. Key Responsibilities:
- Independently assess and prescribe GLP-1 RAs, ensuring patient suitability and safety.
- Conduct remote consultations using Oviva’s digital platform.
- Manage patients across their treatment journey, including initiation, titration, and ongoing monitoring.
- Document clearly and maintain compliance with national and local guidelines.
- Collaborate with dietitians, administrative teams, and GPs for holistic care.
- Respond to urgent clinical queries and know when to escalate appropriately.
- Support other programmes and tasks within Tier 3 services where required.
Key Skills:
- Registered Nurse with NMC, or Allied Health Professional (e.g. physiotherapist, paramedic) with HCPC registration.
- Independent Prescriber qualification with minimum 1 year’s active prescribing experience.
- Proven experience independently prescribing GLP-1 RAs, ideally including Wegovy.
- Experience with patient pathways for injectable weight-loss medications.
- Comfortable working remotely and autonomously.
- Excellent time management, clinical judgment, and communication skills.
- Desirable: Experience in remote healthcare delivery.
- Good working knowledge of the field of obesity and novel therapies.

The role We are looking for a confident, experienced Independent Non-Medical Prescriber (INMP) to join our Specialist Weight Management Services. You will work remotely as part of our Tier 3 service, using Oviva’s digital platform to manage patients receiving GLP-1 receptor agonists. As a central figure in our growing programme, you will:
- Independently assess and prescribe GLP-1 RAs, ensuring patient suitability and safety.
- Conduct remote consultations using our digital platform.
- Manage patients across their treatment journey, including initiation, titration, and ongoing monitoring.
- Document clearly and maintain compliance with national and local guidelines.
- Collaborate with dietitians, administrative teams, and GPs for holistic care.
- Respond to urgent clinical queries and know when to escalate appropriately.
- Support other programmes and tasks within Tier 3 services where required.
Job requirements You are a self-driven clinician with a strong understanding of weight management medications and the importance of remote patient support.
Essential:
- Registered Nurse with NMC, or Allied Health Professional (e.g. physiotherapist, paramedic) with HCPC registration.
- Independent Prescriber qualification with minimum 1 year’s active prescribing experience.
