Summary: The Virginia Department of Elections is seeking a Senior GIS Architect to lead the implementation of ArcGIS Enterprise in a multi-environment setup. This role requires extensive experience in GIS architecture, particularly within Microsoft/Azure environments, and involves deploying high-availability GIS platforms. The position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while contributing to democratic processes in Virginia. Candidates should possess strong technical skills and clear communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full implementation of ArcGIS Enterprise (11.3+) in a multi-environment setup.
• Deploy ArcGIS Enterprise with Portal, Server, Web Adapter, and Object Store.
• Design geodatabases and perform spatial analysis.
• Automate processes using Python (ArcPy, Pandas) and SQL.
• Manage firewalls, ports, DNS, licensing, and user accounts.
• Utilize GIS web services (REST, SOAP) effectively.
• Document processes and communicate clearly with stakeholders.

Key Skills:

• 10+ years in GIS architecture, preferably in Microsoft/Azure environments.
• Expertise in deploying ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server and geodatabase design.
• Proficient in Python (ArcPy, Pandas) and SQL.
• Experience with firewalls, ports, DNS, and user accounts.
• Familiarity with GIS web services (REST, SOAP).
• Clear communication and strong documentation skills.
• Bonus: ESRI Enterprise System Design Professional (ESDP2201).
• Experience with ArcGIS Monitor and related tools.
• DevOps familiarity for GIS deployment and automation.
