Summary: The New-Build Data Center Program Manager will oversee the management of data center installation and upgrade projects across the EMEA region, working remotely with quarterly travel to build sites. This role involves coordinating project scope, budget, and timelines while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. The position requires a strong background in low voltage systems and telecommunications, along with experience in managing large-scale construction projects. The Program Manager will also be responsible for the technical oversight and handover of projects to operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report jointly to the Head of Engineering and regional Design Director.
- Manage program for Data Center installation/upgrade projects.
- Coordinate project scope, timeline, and budget restraints.
- Provide best practice recommendations on Data Center design.
- Monitor contractor’s installation of low voltage systems.
- Work with architects, construction managers, vendors, and logistics teams to deliver IT/AV hardware.
- Gather data and contracts for installing dual DIA circuits.
- Visit sites and review due diligence reports on low voltage infrastructure.
- Collaborate with internal architects and engineers on design handover packages.
- Oversee design development from external consultants.
- Coordinate project delivery across disciplines, ensuring schedule and budget adherence.
- Conduct value engineering sessions with contractors.
- Manage the handover of sites from development to operations, including troubleshooting issues.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years of experience managing large-scale Data Center construction projects.
- Direct responsibility for producing coordinated Low Voltage and/or Telecommunications construction documents.
- Broad knowledge of low voltage infrastructure and structured cabling.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting floor plans and technical drawings.
- Understanding of IT Closets, MDF, and Electrical Equipment Rooms design and construction.
- Experience in project completion and turnover for low voltage systems.
