Summary: The New-Build Data Center Program Manager will oversee the management of data center installation and upgrade projects, coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. This remote role requires travel to build sites and involves responsibilities such as project scope management, contractor oversight, and collaboration with design and engineering teams. The position demands a strong background in data center construction and low voltage systems. The successful candidate will report to senior management and ensure projects meet budget and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management for Data Center installation/upgrade projects.
- Coordinate project scope, timeline, and budget restraints.
- Monitor contractor’s installation of low voltage systems.
- Work with architects, construction managers, and vendors to deliver IT/AV hardware.
- Gather data and contracts for dual DIA circuit installations.
- Review due diligence reports on low voltage infrastructure provisions.
- Oversee design development from external consultants.
- Coordinate with team across disciplines for project delivery.
- Conduct value engineering sessions with contractors.
- Manage handover of site from development to operations department.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in managing large-scale Data Center construction projects.
- Direct responsibility for producing coordinated Low Voltage and/or Telecommunications construction documents.
- Broad knowledge of low voltage infrastructure and structured cabling.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting floor plans and technical drawings.
- Understanding of IT Closets, MDF, and Electrical Equipment Rooms design and construction.
- Experience in project completion and turnover for low voltage systems.
