Summary: The Network Support Technician role requires hands-on expertise in vendor platforms and network monitoring, with a strong background in telecommunications and customer circuit deployments. Key Responsibilities:
- Hands-on experience with vendor platforms including Juniper, Cisco, Accedian, Cyan (Ciena), and Nokia.
- Minimum 4 5 years of telecommunications experience in Ethernet and IP platforms.
- Conduct in-depth troubleshooting of all network-related issues.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair Ethernet and IP equipment and associated protocols such as BGP, MPLS, Ethernet Switching, Spanning Tree, and others.
- Must have experience with SONET, SDH, Telco, FTT, and DWDM networks.
- Perform RFC 2544 tests and troubleshoot fiber issues using OTDR tests with field support.
- Experience in a NOC environment is a plus.
- Preferred professional certifications: Cisco, Juniper, Nokia.
- Document work efforts and troubleshooting status in the trouble ticketing system.
- Perform maintenance and repair activities independently with minimal supervision.
- Provide excellent customer service with strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- 3 5 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing Ethernet & IP networks delivered over transport and fiber.
Key Skills:
