Network Security & Implementation Engineer

Network Security & Implementation Engineer | Remote (UK) | 12-Month Contract

A leading managed services provider is looking for an experienced Network Security & Implementation Engineer to backfill a critical role within their security operations team. This is a remote-first contract based in the UK, with occasional travel to Reading or Paddington for team meetings.

The Role

You'll be responsible for end-to-end Firewall implementation and change management across a multi-vendor environment, working with both internal teams and external customers to deliver security changes accurately and on time.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Deploying security implementations in line with customer Firewall and change management processes
• Validating and error-checking submitted Firewall change requests
• Troubleshooting implementation issues and conducting root cause analysis
• Raising and closing tickets in line with change management procedures
• Leading implementation activity and coordinating across relevant teams
• Acting as a point of contact for internal and external customers, providing technical advice and support
• Collaborating with Support and Design teams to resolve escalated issues
• Supporting IP projects from request validation through to change assignment and implementation

Required Skills

• Checkpoint & Fortinet Firewalls
• Juniper: Junos Space Security Director (SRX & MX)
• Cisco ASA (ASDM)

Nice to Have

Experience with Tufin for Firewall rule management and implementation.

• Contract length: 12 months, with strong likelihood of extension
• Location: Fully remote (UK-based), with occasional in-person meetings in Reading or Paddington
