Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure, maintain, and administer enterprise-grade next generation Firewalls (Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet).
  • Operate management platforms such as Panorama, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.
  • Contribute to SASE implementation and associated cloud security initiatives.
  • Triage customer requirements into actionable engineering tasks provide escalation support to Security Support teams.
  • Assist junior engineers with troubleshooting and technical guidance.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality internal documentation: HLDs, LLDs, network diagrams, security designs, and risk assessments.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, maintain workload tracking in Jira, and provide occasional out-of-hours support for priority activities.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience with Next-Generation Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet) and Firewall management platforms.
  • Solid understanding of routing, switching, and network fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with SASE solutions, load balancers (primarily F5), and email security gateways (eg, Mimecast).
  • Exposure/Vulnerability Management experience (eg, Tenable One) and strong troubleshooting capability.
  • Knowledge of AWS or Azure infrastructure services is advantageous.
  • Experience producing security designs, contributing to risk assessments, and maintaining high-quality documentation.

My client, one of the biggest producers ZERO CARBON energy in the UK, is looking for is seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to join their Security Engineering and Implementation team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about next-generation Firewalls, SASE infrastructure, and enterprise network security.

The Role:

You will be a key member of the team delivering, configuring, and maintaining cutting-edge Firewall and SASE solutions. Operating within SAFe-aligned agile practices, you will work across two-week sprints, contribute to engineering delivery, and ensure secure, resilient, and scalable network environments.
