Our client seeks a Network Operations Engineer / Network Operations Analyst to provide real-time monitoring and incident response across a large enterprise network environment.
The role centers on eyes-on-glass operations, proactive detection, and swift triage of circuit and connectivity events across 500+ global sites.
The position requires strong Layer 1-3 troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and clear communication while following established SOPs in a 24x7 monitored environment.
Typical shift is approximately 2:00 PM-11:00 PM Eastern with a likely weekend schedule after initial training.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis.

Responsibilities
- Monitor enterprise network health and respond to real-time incidents across Discover, Diners Club, and Pulse environments.
- Triage and resolve circuit and connectivity outages, including BGP events, tunnels, and VLAN issues.
- Navigate Cisco devices and execute diagnostic commands to isolate Layer 1-3 faults.
- Coordinate directly with ISPs and vendors to escalate and drive resolution.
- Communicate status and impact through emails, calls, and documented updates.
- Prioritize multiple simultaneous outages and maintain engagement until stabilization.
- Follow established SOPs and contribute to documentation quality.
- Operate within a primary/secondary rotation balancing active incidents and support activities.
- Support preemptive mitigation and proactive monitoring practices.
- Transition to independent operations after ramp-up and training.
Experience Requirements
- Approximately 3-5 years in network operations or NOC with strong Cisco exposure.
- Hands-on eyes-on-glass monitoring experience in a 24x7 setting.
- Proficiency in Layer 1-3 troubleshooting and incident management.
- Experience handling circuit outages, BGP, VLANs, and tunneling scenarios.
- Proven coordination with ISPs and carriers during outages.
- Comfort managing multiple concurrent incidents with clear escalation paths.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Tools and skills: Cisco networking, SecureCRT, network monitoring. Nice to have: SolarWinds, Riverbed, packet analysis, BGP, VLANs/tunneling, Ansible, scripting/automation, AI exposure.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred.
A highly qualified candidate without a degree may be considered.
