Summary: The Network Mapping & Documentation Engineer with NetBrain is responsible for documenting and visualizing network infrastructure using NetBrain across multiple environments. This role requires creating accurate topology maps and establishing standards for ongoing documentation accuracy. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with NetBrain and a solid understanding of enterprise network environments. The position may evolve to include automation and runbook development in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use NetBrain to generate and maintain up-to-date network topology documentation at multiple infrastructure layers.
  • Map and document network elements including compute, storage, chassis, and related components, including port-level detail where required.
  • Apply proper tagging and classification to maps for organizational clarity.
  • Maintain all documentation directly within NetBrain as the single source of truth.
  • Set up scheduled refreshes for ongoing updates to network documentation.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to validate device data including MAC addresses, IPs, and hostnames.
  • Track and document port utilization for key environments, and implement alerts as needed.
  • Incorporate external connectivity, such as cloud infrastructure, into overall topology maps.
  • Utilize NetBrain features to identify topology changes and support change tracking.
  • Develop standards and materials to support adoption, including SOPs, training content, and runbook frameworks.
  • Prioritize high-impact network segments for initial documentation efforts.

We are seeking a Network Mapping & Documentation Engineer with deep experience using NetBrain to lead a comprehensive effort to document and visualize network infrastructure across multiple environments. This role focuses on creating accurate Layer 1, 2, and 3 topology maps, documenting key network and infrastructure components, and establishing standards and processes to ensure ongoing accuracy and adoption of the maps.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with NetBrain and a solid understanding of enterprise network environments, including physical infrastructure, storage systems, and network chassis. This position will also help lay the foundation for future automation and runbook development.
Key Responsibilities:
Use NetBrain to generate and maintain up-to-date network topology documentation at multiple infrastructure layers.
