Summary: The Network Engineering Lead role involves overseeing and delivering engineering work packages for a global campus network transformation in a financial services organization. This hands-on position requires a highly experienced Cisco-certified engineer with a strong background in enterprise network projects. The role encompasses various network environments including LAN, WAN, DC, and Wi-Fi. The ideal candidate will lead technical initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of enterprise-class network solutions
- Provide high-level technical support for network infrastructure incidents and changes
- Develop and enforce networking standards, policies, and best practices
- Collaborate with security, cloud, and infrastructure teams on cross-functional initiatives
- Act as a technical lead for major network projects, migrations, and upgrades
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across LAN, WAN, Data Centre, and Cloud environments
- Perform network performance tuning and capacity planning
- Mentor and guide junior network engineers; foster knowledge sharing
- Document network configurations, processes, and procedures
- Interface with vendors and service providers for hardware/software procurement and support
Key Skills:
- Active Cisco CCIE certification (Routing & Switching, Enterprise Infrastructure, or equivalent) (desirable)
- Minimum 8–10 years of hands-on network engineering experience
- Proven experience in designing and managing large-scale enterprise networks
- Strong proficiency in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), switching technologies (STP, VLAN, VTP), and firewall technologies
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco technologies (Catalyst, Nexus, ASA, Firepower, ISE)
- Experience with SD-WAN, VPN, MPLS, and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Python, Terraform) is a plus
- Experience in managing network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, NetFlow, etc.)
