Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and manage various appliance and VM-based vendor technologies at the CLI or through a web interface.
- Design, implement, install, diagnose, troubleshoot, upgrade, decommission, and support all areas of the network.
- Provide operational and project engineering support for enterprise IT networks.
- Assist in design builds including network hardware, IP addressing, firewall rule-sets, testing, and roll-out.
- Support environments using Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and 2FA.
- Collaborate with peer infrastructure teams supporting an Azure cloud hosted environment.
- Work as part of a network team responsible for an international enterprise network.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve cabling, LAN/WAN, routing, WiFi, and firewall-related faults.
- Maintain knowledge of IT security practices and tools like ServiceNow and LogicMonitor.
Key Skills:
- Experience as a hands-on network engineer in a network infrastructure team.
- 2-5 years' experience with Juniper, Cisco, Meraki, Forescout NAC, Forcepoint Web Proxy, AV systems, and Palo Alto technologies.
- Experience with wired and WiFi LANs.
- Knowledge of networking including Layer 2/3, dynamic routing, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VPN, and firewall management.
- Certifications: ITIL Foundation, CCNA & CCNP.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft server technologies, VMware, and Citrix.
- Good knowledge of SD-WAN.

Our client, a global insurance broker, are currently looking to hire a Network Engineer with Palo Alto Firewalls experience to join the team on an Umbrella contract basis. This role would be largely remote working, with occasional travel to London.
In this role you will be expected to operate varying appliance and VM based vendor technologies at the CLI or through a web interface to design, implement, install, diagnose, troubleshoot, upgrade, decommission and support all areas of the network.
Technical skills required for the role:
- Demonstrate experience working in a network infrastructure team as a hands-on network engineer
