Summary: The Network Engineer Mid role focuses on supporting the engineering, validation, and performance optimization of cloud-based systems within AWS environments. The position requires ensuring system functionality, reliability, and configuration stability through structured engineering activities and continuous improvement initiatives. The candidate will work in a secure, mission-driven environment and may need to travel occasionally to Boston. A minimum of 8 years of experience is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based systems.
- Perform verification and validation (V&V) activities to ensure systems meet functional and technical requirements.
- Conduct functional testing, timeline analysis, and system performance evaluations.
- Assist in requirements allocation, validation, and traceability across cloud infrastructure and applications.
- Support interface definition and validation between cloud services, applications, and external systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system functionality, performance, and configuration issues.
- Analyze system metrics and trends to identify areas for performance improvement and optimization.
- Assist in conducting trade studies to evaluate system design and operational effectiveness.
- Maintain system documentation including configurations, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Support automation initiatives to improve system provisioning, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor system health and performance.
- Ensure cloud systems align with security policies, compliance requirements, and federal standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including cloud engineers, developers, testers, and system administrators.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, systems engineering, or related roles.
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) services (EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, IAM, etc.).
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, virtualization, networking, and storage concepts.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native environments.
Understanding of cybersecurity best practices in cloud environments.
Experience working in federal or regulated environments.
