Summary: The Network Automation Engineer role is designed for a mid-to-senior-level professional with approximately eight years of hands-on experience in network automation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to projects as a mid-to-senior team member under the guidance of a project lead, ensuring high-quality service delivery
  • Lead specific technical components within larger project teams based on area of expertise
  • Provide engineering support and technical insight across multiple client engagements
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and uphold quality and compliance standards
  • Develop technical documentation independently and present findings or solutions to stakeholders in group settings
  • Escalate project-related issues to appropriate leadership when necessary

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience with network automation frameworks and tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and NetBox
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python, Bash, or similar
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching
  • Hands-on experience with network devices from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto)
  • Experience with APIs, RESTful services, and integrating automation workflows across platforms
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation deployment practices
  • Knowledge of network monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting tools
  • Exposure to cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus

Qualifications

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required
  • Approximately 8 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in client-facing or project-driven environments
  • Strong expertise in at least one technical domain, with the ability to take direction from senior technical leadership
  • Ability to assist with sales support and contribute to project management activities as needed
  • Capable of working independently with periodic check-ins while executing assigned technical tasks
  • Deep knowledge in one area, with working familiarity across additional technical domains
  • Understanding of client business needs and how technical solutions align with those requirements
  • Exposure to one or more industries, with awareness of industry-specific considerations
  • Ability to articulate the business value of technical solutions
  • Strong technical writing skills, including the ability to produce design documents, RFP responses, and deployment materials
  • Ability to support and deliver presentations to technical and mid-level stakeholders
  • Understanding of project financials, forecasting, and billing models (e.g., T&M, fixed-price, managed services)
  • Ability to maintain personal project forecasts and mentor junior team members

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience
  • One CCNP-level certification or two CCNA-level certifications preferred
  • Alternative certifications may include VCAP, JNCIS, CCSE, or PCNSE
  • Additional lower-level certifications with hands-on experience are a plus
