Summary: The Network Engineer role involves providing project-level architecture and implementation support for a multi-year program focused on hardware refresh and design. The position requires the engineer to manage network connectivity for new storage implementations, ensuring high availability and effective datacenter connectivity. Candidates must be based in or near Malta, NY, with the ability to travel to Burlington, VT as needed. The role is expected to commence in August 2025 and requires a commitment of 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Networking Low-Level Design (LLD) input to tactical partners, including updating network drawings in Microsoft Visio for both To Be and As Built network designs for global storage installations.
- Provide support for all network details required for enterprise NetApp Keystone Configuration workbooks, including VLANs, DNS, NTP, IP, Netmask, and Gateway.
- Manage ServiceNow Change Requests related to network changes required for enterprise NetApp storage installations, ensuring compliance with Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) standards.
- Implement changes with support from the Network Infrastructure Delivery organization.
- Support the implementation of new fiber runs within the datacenter and between datacenters, validating need, locations, types, lengths, and assisting GF with the placement of the order.
- Validate and test High Availability network architecture designs for newly implemented storage infrastructure.
- Support the network setup for NetApp AFF A900 and ASAA900, including troubleshooting traffic to the NetApp Keystone Billing Collector, NetApp BlueXP, and MetroCluster switch.
- Provide new network configuration requirements for the setup of the VMWare Cloud Foundation, including VLAN, IP, DNS, etc.
- Analyze and optimize traffic paths from premise to AWS for NetApp SnapMirror to support GF's backup strategy.
- Ensure connectivity and troubleshoot to the Snapcenter servers and the VMware host on in the new VMfarm and existing (legacy) VMware environments.
- Technologies: Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus, Cisco ACI.
Key Skills:
- Experience with Networking Low-Level Design (LLD) and network drawings in Microsoft Visio.
- Knowledge of enterprise NetApp Keystone Configuration workbooks, including VLANs, DNS, NTP, IP, Netmask, and Gateway.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to provide project level architecture and implementation support. This is part of a multi-year program focused on hardware refresh and design. The Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting all the network connectivity for all new storage implementations, including switch connectivity, high availability (HA), datacenter-to-datacenter connectivity, and backup networking.
This role requires the contractor to be based in Malta, New York, with the ability to travel to Burlington, VT. If the contractor is not located in Malta, they must have the ability to travel there frequently (twice monthly) for implementations and physical network work. Travel expenses to Malta, NY will not be reimbursed.
