Summary: The Network Engineer role is a 6-month contract position focused on supporting a major system migration project and ongoing business-as-usual (BAU) support. The position is fully remote but may require occasional travel to sites during key project phases. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in enterprise-level network migrations and will work collaboratively within a tech team to ensure network stability and performance post-migration. This role offers a competitive day rate and the potential for contract extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support the delivery of a network and infrastructure migration project
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot core networking components (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs)
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on implementation plans
- Assist in network documentation, change control, and post-migration support
- Transition into BAU support—handling incident response, performance tuning, and small-scale changes
- Participate in regular remote meetings and occasional on-site sessions
Key Skills:
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-level network migrations
- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, and firewall technologies (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto)
- Experience with VPNs, SD-WAN, and network segmentation
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG)
- Ability to work autonomously and manage tasks in a fully remote setup
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or equivalent are highly desirable
