Summary: The Network Engineer III role is a remote position focused on designing, deploying, and managing secure network architectures to protect company assets. The candidate will monitor and respond to security incidents while developing and enforcing security policies and best practices. This position requires strong technical expertise in network security and collaboration with IT teams to integrate security measures. The role is ideal for individuals with extensive experience in network security engineering and relevant certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage secure network architectures to protect company assets.
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and threats in real-time.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices to comply with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, NERC CIP).
  • Configure and maintain firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto), VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security appliances.
  • Implement and manage zero-trust security models, endpoint security, and identity access controls.
  • Conduct security audits, patch management, and regular updates to network security infrastructure.
  • Provide incident response support and forensic investigation in support of the computing environment.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security best practices in network and cloud environments.
  • Perform risk and vulnerability assessments to identify security weaknesses.

Key Skills:

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, PCNSA/PCNSE, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in network security engineering, cybersecurity, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and DDoS mitigation.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools like Splunk, NetScout, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection platforms.

Technical Requirements and Certifications »
