Summary: We are seeking a Network Engineer specializing in Equinix and Aviatrix for a Cloud DevOps role, offering a long-term opportunity with a remote working arrangement. The position requires extensive experience in network engineering and cloud infrastructure, focusing on designing and managing secure hybrid-cloud connectivity. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various teams to ensure reliable and scalable infrastructure while implementing network security controls. This role is suited for independent consultants, as visa sponsorship is not available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud networking solutions using Aviatrix and Equinix platforms.
- Build and manage secure hybrid-cloud connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
- Configure and support Equinix Fabric, virtual connections, and cloud exchange services.
- Implement multi-cloud networking architectures with high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Automate network provisioning and infrastructure deployment using Terraform and DevOps tools.
- Collaborate with Cloud, Security, and DevOps teams to ensure reliable and scalable infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and optimize cloud network operations.
- Implement network security controls and ensure compliance with enterprise security standards.
- Support migration of workloads to cloud environments while maintaining secure connectivity.
- Create network design documents, operational procedures, and architecture diagrams.
Key Skills:
- 8+ years of experience in Network Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Aviatrix multi-cloud networking platform.
- Strong experience with Equinix Fabric, Equinix Network Edge, and hybrid connectivity solutions.
- Experience designing and managing cloud networking in AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong understanding of SD-WAN, VPN, BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
- Experience with cloud-native networking, VPC/VNet architecture, transit gateways, and network segmentation.
- Knowledge of network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, Zero Trust, and secure cloud connectivity.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills for enterprise networks.
