The Resident Engineer will act as the primary technical contact for a dedicated customer, providing hands-on support across data center networking, troubleshooting, design, testing and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical subject matter expert for data center networking technologies.
- Support network design, troubleshooting, hardware/software testing, documentation and best practices.
- Provide advanced break/fix support and root-cause troubleshooting across production environments.
- Advise on Junos configuration and network design best practices.
- Review technical designs and ensure alignment with engineering and development standards.
- Support testing, validation and introduction of new technologies.
- Contribute technical expertise across wider engineering projects and programmes.
- Develop automation and scripting to improve network operations and testing.
- Mentor and support junior engineers.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience across data center routing, switching and network architecture.
- Strong hands-on experience with Juniper QFX, PTX, MX and EX platforms.
- Strong Junos and Junos EVO knowledge.
- Experience testing and certifying network software features and associated hardware.
- Strong understanding of data center network design, troubleshooting and validation.
- Python scripting and test automation experience.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Expert-level certification required: JNCIE or CCIE.
