Summary: The Network Automation Consultant role is a 6-month consulting position focused on leading enterprise-level automation initiatives. The consultant will be responsible for architecting automation solutions, maintaining client communication, and influencing client decisions through technical expertise. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of full-stack architectures and automation technologies. This position allows for remote work, providing flexibility in engagement with clients and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead customer calls with technical peers and communicate complex solutions clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
- Translate manual workflows into scalable automation designs and documentation.
- Identify project risks, develop resolution plans, and support troubleshooting.
- Track project progress, manage timelines, and correct delays proactively.
- Perform peer reviews, provide mentorship, and contribute to coding best practices.
- Collaborate with engineers and managing consultants to build automation frameworks, define tech stacks, and establish design patterns.
- Develop software and automation tools for both internal and client-facing projects.
- Quickly adopt and apply new technologies while maintaining a standard of technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle (assessment, design, development, demonstration, deployment, documentation).
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in a customer-facing consulting role.
- Ability to break down and present complex concepts for varied audiences.
- Expertise in CI/CD and its application to network automation.
- Strong understanding of data management concepts, including IaC and Source of Truth strategies.
- Proficiency with Ansible and/or Python for network device automation.
- Experience developing custom APIs using Flask or Django.
- Familiarity with tools and libraries such as pytest, Nornir, Netmiko, NAPALM, Batfish, Salt, and Robot Framework.
- Experience with traditional Git workflows and collaborative development environments.
- CCNP certification (or equivalent networking knowledge).

About the Role
We re seeking an experienced Network Automation Consultant to lead and support enterprise-level automation initiatives. The ideal candidate understands full-stack architectures, including Enterprise-driven workflows, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD deployment models, Network Orchestration & Automation, Source of Truth, ChatOps, Network Observability, and ITSM (ServiceNow). You ll play a key role in architecting automation solutions that leverage both open-source and enterprise technologies.
In this consulting role, you will maintain frequent client communication, lead interactive discovery and design sessions, and participate in regular meetings to ensure client satisfaction. You ll demonstrate humble confidence in influencing client opinions through technical recommendations, fielding objections, and providing expert insights.
