Summary: The Network Architect role involves implementing and managing various network protocols and security measures while supporting the network engineering team to ensure efficient operations. The position requires extensive experience in network engineering, with a focus on Fortinet firewalls and complex routing and switching environments. The successful candidate will also be responsible for troubleshooting, documentation, and assisting in network assessments and optimizations. This is a remote position with a duration of over 12 months, requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement protocols such as EIGRP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, and others.
- Implement security products including firewalls, IPSec, IDS/IPS, and more.
- Develop scripts using Python, Perl, Javascript, PHP, Bash, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Manage day-to-day tasks related to Routing, Switching, VPN, LAN, WAN, and Network Security.
- Utilize network management and troubleshooting tools.
- Configure and manage Fortinet firewalls, F5 and AVI load balancers, and SD-WAN technologies.
- Use Cisco Command line interface and support network engineering team.
- Document networks, systems, and operational materials.
- Conduct network and security assessments to optimize performance and design.
- Assist OTI in troubleshooting beyond normal work hours when necessary.
Key Skills:
- At least 12 years of experience in an IT network engineering or architect role.
- Strong understanding of Fortinet Firewalls Architecture with hands-on experience.
- Experience with Complex Routing & Switching Environments.
- Experience with Virtualization Technologies.
- Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities
- Implement protocols such as: EIGRP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP SSH, TCP/IP, UDP, SSL, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, SIEM, TCP/IP, routing protocols, L2/L3 switches, OSPF, VPC, 802.1Q, ether-channel, STP, RSTP, VTP, QoS, ACLs, VxLAN, FTP, DNS, SIP, RTP and other common protocols.
- Implement security products firewalls, IPSec, IDS/IPS, Anti Spam, virus scanning, RADIUS, PKI, IKE, Certificates, L2TP, IPSEC, FIREWALL, 802.1Q, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA1, DES, 3DES.
- Implements scripts though Python, Perl, Javascript, PHP, Perl, Bash, Teraform HCI, Ansible.
- Day to day tasks will include Routing, Switching, VPN, LAN, WAN, Network Security, Intrusion Detection, Anti-Virus, change management, trouble resolution management
- Tasks may include network management, monitoring and troubleshooting tools (sniffer, syslog, NetFlow, TCPDUMP, Wireshark)
- Day to Day configuration, management, and operations of Fortinet firewalls, F5 and AVI load balancers, SD-WAN architectures, and WAN automation technologies.

- Successful candidate will conduct network and security assessments to troubleshoot and optimize network performance and design. Support and lead efforts of the design, testing, evaluation and implementation of new architectures and technologies.
