Summary: The Network Architect role involves leading stakeholder workshops to translate business and technical needs into structured requirements, defining the scope and deliverables for solution design, and producing detailed technical designs. The position requires strong technical expertise and the ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels. The contract is fully remote and spans 3-6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead stakeholder workshops and translate business, technical, and operational needs into a structured requirements document.
- Define and agree on the scope, deliverables, responsibilities, timelines, acceptance criteria, and design assumptions for the solution design engagement.
- Produce end-to-end solution architecture defining service topology, technology choices, integration points, security, resilience, scalability, and design principles.
- Develop detailed, implementation-ready technical design including configurations, routing, IP schemes, policies, device specifications, and deployment guidance.
- Validate and confirm that the design meets architectural standards, security and regulatory requirements, and operational readiness criteria.
Key Skills:
- Current and active UK Security Clearance (SC).
- At least five years of experience as a Network Architect or Solution Design Authority.
- Cisco certification, ideally CCIE (Enterprise or Security) or CCNP level.
- Experience producing and governing High-Level and Low-Level Design documentation.
- Expertise in designing and delivering enterprise LAN and WAN solutions, including SD-WAN architectures.
- Ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Network Architect - Role & Responsibilities
- Lead stakeholder workshops and translate business, technical, and operational needs into a structured, traceable requirements document including assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and risks.
- Define and agree the scope, deliverables, responsibilities, timelines, acceptance criteria, and design assumptions for the end-to-end solution design engagement.
- Produce end-to-end solution architecture defining service topology, technology choices, integration points, security, resilience, scalability, and design principles aligned to business and technical requirements.
- Develop detailed, implementation-ready technical design including configurations, routing, IP schemes, policies, device specifications, and step-by-step deployment guidance.
- Validate and formally confirm that the design meets architectural standards, security and regulatory requirements, operational readiness criteria, and that all risks and deviations are documented and approved.
Network Architect - Required Experience
- Must hold current and active UK Security Clearance (SC)
- Demonstrable experience of at least five years operating as a Network Architect or Solution Design Authority
- Strong technical foundation validated through Cisco certification, ideally CCIE (Enterprise or Security) or CCNP level
- Extensive hands-on experience producing and governing High-Level and Low-Level Design documentation
- Deep technical expertise in designing and delivering enterprise LAN and WAN solutions, including modern SD-WAN architectures
- Proven ability to engage confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels, including customers
