Summary: The Network Architect role focuses on leading network assessments and design activities for enterprise on-premises environments, primarily in a remote capacity with occasional on-site work in Bristol. The candidate will leverage extensive expertise in network infrastructure, security, and performance optimization to enhance client network ecosystems. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and the production of detailed design documentation and implementation roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end network assessments for complex enterprise on-prem environments.
  • Develop high-level and low-level network designs aligned with business and security requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise performance, resilience, and scalability across infrastructure.
  • Provide architectural guidance for network security, routing, switching, firewalls, and connectivity solutions.
  • Conduct workshops and stakeholder sessions to gather requirements and present architectural recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (infrastructure, cloud, security, operations) to ensure alignment.
  • Produce detailed design documentation, migration strategies, and implementation roadmaps.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience (8+ years) as a Network Architect or Senior Network Engineer in enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in network infrastructure design (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Data Centre, Firewalls).
  • Hands-on experience with vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or equivalent enterprise-grade platforms.
  • In-depth understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS).
  • Experience with performance optimisation, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools.

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Network Architect to lead network assessments and design activities for enterprise on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in network infrastructure, security, and performance optimisation , playing a key role in evaluating, designing, and recommending enhancements to client network ecosystems.
