Summary: The Network Architect role involves supporting the internal Security Architecture and technical teams in defining requirements for a potential SASE procurement process. This position is temporary for an initial 6-month contract and is fully remote. The architect will assess current network architecture, collaborate with various teams, and provide insights on SASE capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Discovery & Requirements Definition: assess the current network architecture and its dependencies, identify gaps, constraints, and integration challenges for a SASE transformation, support in the development of a set of technical requirements to guide vendor selection.
- Collaboration & Advisory: Work closely with Security Architects, Network Engineers, and IT teams as required, provide insights into potential operational and performance impacts.
- SASE Knowledge & Vendor Evaluation: Advise on key SASE capabilities (e.g., SD-WAN, SSE, Zero Trust), help assess provider architectures, service models, and integration approaches, support the organisation in defining the evaluation framework for vendors.
Key Skills:
- Deep hands-on expertise in the existing network infrastructure
- A strong understanding of modern networking principles, architecture, and security frameworks
- A solid grasp of the SASE landscape, with experience in its concepts, implementation considerations, and vendor offerings.
- Extensive experience in large-scale enterprise networking (WAN, LAN, cloud networking, hybrid multi-cloud environment)
- Strong understanding of security principles (Zero Trust, identity-based access, traffic inspection)
- Familiarity with SASE models, vendors, and their differentiators
- Previous experience supporting network/security transformations
