Summary: The .NET Developer role involves joining an agile delivery team to support the development of a major government digital platform. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, test, and deploy robust software components using modern development tools and approaches.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the platform's services and infrastructure, ensuring performance, resilience, and security.
  • Support and extend CI/CD pipelines and contribute to the automation of deployment and testing processes.
  • Participate in design discussions, stand-ups, retrospectives, and technical reviews.
  • Deliver working, testable, and well-documented code aligned with project timelines and coding standards.
  • Proactively identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, or technical debt.
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps, QA, Architecture, and Product teams to align technical implementation with business requirements.
  • Take ownership of development tasks from estimation through to deployment.

Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in C#, .NET, and MVC frameworks.
  • Experience developing scalable web applications and APIs.
  • Hands-on exposure to AWS (required) and Azure (desirable) cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with Terraform, GitHub, and YAML configuration.
  • Experience working with Docker containers and basic container orchestration (eg ECS).
  • Exposure to MongoDB or other non-relational databases.
  • Understanding of CI/CD tooling and workflow automation using GitHub Actions or similar.
  • Sound knowledge of version control, branching strategies, and secure software development principles.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary delivery team.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum-based environments, using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to raise issues early and contribute ideas constructively.
  • Comfortable working with loosely defined requirements and contributing to solution shaping.
